Early One Morning

Early one morning, about 4:00 A.M. actually, I was unable to sleep, up, reading my bible, writing down thoughts as they came to me and as I talked to the Lord.   And so my book began; it’s ever evolving.  Thank you Jessie for transcribing so much of it for me, some day we’ll get it published!

It is amazing to walk with Jesus Christ! I am thrilled that He forgave my sins, wiped my life’s slate clean and gave me a fresh start at 19; serving Him is exciting and obedience to His Word often stretches me in every way.  Sometimes I feel like I’m in pre-school but I know the Lord is with me, teaching me His ways and leading me in His paths.

Being a mother to three wonderful children, Jonathan, 39, single, living in Los Angeles; Sherilyn, 38, married to Allan, parents of our two oldest grandsons, Gordon (7) and Canon (5), living in Oregon; Brittian, 28, married to Jessie, parents of our two youngest grandsons, Ransom (3 1/2) and Judah (2), living in Washington, are the joy of my life.

Rex and I celebrated 41 years of marriage this past June and are still very much in love; we’ve traveled the highs, lows and inbetweens together, staying true to each other and the vows we made.  Even though we share many of the same likes and dislikes, in many ways we are opposites so, we continue to learn to complement each other rather than compete with each other….it’s a good thing.  We’ve worked side by side ever since we were married and that presents its rewards as well as challenges.  The key, I think, is to keep looking for the positive, attractive qualities in each other rather than getting side-tracked with those few negative, irritating areas of our lives.

I love life and the thrill of living every day to its fullest in the Lord!  His message to me through His Word keeps my eyes focused upward, on Him, His reality and His truth.  He makes life worth living…and living to the fullest.
